For the past 21 weeks we have been able to hold worship services in our church hall, with the chairs arranged in accordance with two metre social distancing. Recently those who had been sitting outside in cars listening to the services being relayed to the car park have been coming inside and spacing themselves well apart in the largely empty church building to which the services are relayed.
It was particularly pleasing that on November 22nd we were able to have our communion service for the first time since January. A few days before the communion was held, a decision was made by the Stormont Executive requiring churches to close for 2 weeks from November 27th. This means we will not be able to hold public worship services on the Lord’s Days of November 29th and December 6th.
Instead of gathering for worship, arrangements will be made for services to be pre-recorded and uploaded to the church website to be available for use at home on November 29th and December 6th. This will be the same arrangement that we had in place earlier in the year from March 29th till June 28th. CD recordings of the services will be made available to those who do not have internet access, with the CDs being distributed on Saturday so they are available for use on the Lord’s Day.
We hope that we will be able to meet again for public worship on December 13th. Sabbath School will be on that day also. Midweek prayer meetings will be held via Zoom. Those who are on the church WhatsApp group will receive notification about these meetings.
