50 Years as Elders

March 22nd, 2020 is the 50th anniversary of the ordination and installation of Charlie Knox and William James Loughridge to the eldership in Kilraughts RP Church. It was our plan that on this day we would have a special thanksgiving service to mark the occasion, followed by a church lunch. Our guest preacher for the service was to have been Rev. Edward Donnelly, who had preached at the ordination service 50 years ago.

These things were not to be. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, we are not meeting as a congregation for public worship. We hope that it may be possible at a later stage to have a suitable event at which we will together give thanks to God for the work that these men have done within our church in serving our Lord.

For now, let us remember them and their wives, May and Rosemary in our prayers. Let us give thanks for how God has sustained them and how He has enabled them to exercise a good and wise godly example among us. Truly the Lord was good to Kilraughts in providing us with such men to serve as shepherds of the flock.

Hebrews 13:7 – “Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.”
