Election of Elders - Jan 2017
January 31, 2017

Rev. David Fallows preached three sermons on the subject during January and an election was held at a congregational meeting after morning worship on 29th January.  At this meeting four men were nominated and seconded and at the vote that followed, once all the ballot papers had been inspected and the count made it was found that all four men had secured a majority of the votes lodged and so were declared duly elected.  The four men who were elected were William Hanna, Harold Kerr, Michael Kennedy and Robert Pinkerton.  Session will be meeting with these men over the coming weeks to ascertain their suitability and willingness to serve as elders.

The men who are presently serving as ruling elders have been in office for many years.  Charlie Knox, William Hanna and William James Loughridge have been elders since 1970, while Alan Kennedy, Elliott Robinson and Roy Pinkerton have been elders since 1988.  Session are thankful for how God has answered prayers so far and trust that once all has been worked through we will see some new men being ordained and installed as ruling elders in Kilraughts.
